"The only preparation necessary is your willingness toshow up and be present. Once you take the first step, the next steps will become more fluid, as you step into the river of change"
Out first session will require us both to complete some paperwork, which consists of your details. We will also ask questions about presenting issues, so we can gain a clearer perspective of how best to invest in your journey and development. It is perfectly normal to feel anxious before attending, with many self-doubts if therapy will be useful for you. Payments: Can be made either before your session, or on the day. This can be via internet banking, or cash on the day. Confidentiality and your rights
  • In most cases we do not share information, unless you have given consent to share with other health professionals
  • Should you be at risk to yourself, or to others. We would break confidentiality and contact the appropriate services to support you
  • Typically, if your therapy is being paid for by an employer, Oranga Tamariki, ACC etc. They typically require an update for sessions attended. We would discuss what would be shared.
  • As part of clinical role as a counsellor, we receive external supervision monthly. Within that realm we discuss difficult cases. We do not share names; however, we may discuss your case should we require further clarification about where to next.
  • We keep all electronic records password protected; we do not keep paper files.
  • Any forms you sign, we upload to a database and shred the original document.
  • We are not a crisis service. Should you require crisis intervention please phone mental health line, or police with links on the mental health page
